Suddenly we decided to visit western-coast of karnataka. My mind was already sketching one more visit to Soans-Island @basuru, Karnataka.
From Udupi we reached Kundapura, Karnataka after an hour and half journey. Reached the Soans-Island after 10 mins drive from Hotel Sharon. It was already 7.30 pm, Pitch dark. First time when we went, never knew that we have to travel in boat to reach the destination. We were full of fear. Only after stepping into boat all our fear vanished with in minutes. The sky was jet black and full of stars, melodious river flow, a breeze of fresh air made us more thrilled. The boatman was working Huttu-Golu carefully and ensuring safety.
After reaching the island, our joy was double to see the house doors on right of bank of river. The rooms were too good with quality constructions. We had a cup of hot-tea in night. The whole island has only 2 families + caretaker family. No one else. So it was like our own time, life and our own world. We listened to light musics and off to sleep.
Next day, morning as planned my two little friends Rachu, Keerthu were ready by early morning 5.00 am to visit Kodi beach near kundapura. Guys, it was worth watch the calm, nice beach in early morning. We made sand-castles, went for long walk on beach shore and headed back to Island by 9.30. Already we were feeling hungry and so Neerdose, Kaayi chutney sweet and khara were already waiting for us. Wow!!! what a delicious break fast. We just enjoyed.. enjoyed.. enjoyed.. We went for a round in Island. The island hosts a lot of flora and fauna, which is feast to eyes. Flora and fauna particuarly enjoyable from July to December. If you are lucky, you can see the peacocks - coming from neighboring paddy fields. The places houses a variety houses like river cottage, Gazebo, Hut, Tents etc.
Overall everyone enjoyed and relaxed in the Island. A must visit place or option to stay if you are travelling between Mangalore to Murudeshwara.
