The first time I saw quilling was in 1998 after my PU exams. My cousin Ranju has showed a art piece. I asked him about it and no clues passed on to me :(
But he told it's made of paper strips and rolling it. So decided to try. Just loved the lively effects produced. So temporarily satisfied myself by cutting different colour papers (very uneven and thick paper used), rolling and paste it to form flowers. Only in google I found details about paper quilling. That was @ 2007.
"Living Raga" a NGO ran by one of my friend provides platform to teach quilling to Physcially and Mentally challenged people. The art has helped them to improve the creatvity, physical strength and to help them to earn little money.
Now I am big fan of paper filgree or quilling.Because even non-artists can try their hands safely. Helps to improve the imagination and creativity of a person.
Here are few of paper quilling art tried by me.
